Recently I have been wondering about the way Tylor and I spelled Gemma's name since a few people have mispronounced it lately. They say the 'g' like you do in the word gum instead of with a 'j' sound. I was talking to Ty and he listed several words that begin with the letter g, but have the j sound. (I was worried about Gemma always having to correct people and then being annoyed by it.) After I talked to Tylor I felt better and then . . .
And then Tylor brought home a magazine with these twins on the cover. Eliana & Gemma are big iPhone fans. "They love to explore the latest games, flip through photos, and watch YouTube videos while waiting at a restaurant, having their hair done, or between ballet and French lessons. But the Manhattan twins don't yet have their own phones, which is good, since they probably wouldn't be able to manage the monthly data plan: In November; they turned 3." (Fast Company Magazine)No, Gemma does not have her own iPhone and she will not be getting one any time soon. As for the ballet and French lessons . . . I'm not sure about those either ;)
Needless to say I have always loved Gem's name and I am 100% happy about the way we spelled it. As time goes by I am sure that her name will be mispronounced much less often (especially with her name popping up all over).
